Façade Dialogs

Residents about their neighbourhood. Stories and concerns of its local inhabitants in the Cologne-Mülheim district.

For one evening, Wiener Platz becomes a platform for residents’ different personal perspectives on their neighbourhood and its future. A portrait of a lively place and its community and a discourse on the transformation of a neighbourhood. And while the architecture of the city becomes the canvas, the object and the mediator of the enactment become one.

Preceding the installation, a mobile interview station was set up at the central Wiener Platz and pedestrians were invited to share their personal tales, thoughts, and reflections on the district. The conversations were projected as a collage onto two opposing façades at the Wiener Platz.
